The following checklist may be useful for when you are considering hiring a marquee for your next party or event.

|Confirm guest numbers and we will then recommend a suitable sized marquee. For marquee weddings and formal functions we typically allow two metre square per guest, eg 110 guests x 2 = 220m2 marquee which is a 12m x 18m marquee. Refer to our marquee capacity guide.|
|When do you need the marquee delivered and collected? Some functions may require a marquee to be erected several days prior, while same day erection is applicable to others. For weddings we would typically erect our marquees and equipment two days before the wedding, ie on a Thursday for a Saturday wedding. Party Warehouse do not apply any additional hire charges for this extra duration, it is all part of our service.|
|Do you require our professional team to erect and dismantle the marquee? Our larger marquees must be erected by our team (or at least supervised) however smaller marquees can be erected and dismantled by yourself. Please do not underestimate the time and safety issues involved with erecting a marquee of any size.|
|Do you require an entrance marquee? An entrance marquee not only has aesthetic appeal, it will block any uncomfortable wind entering the main marquee - which is especially important if you have guests seated near the entrance. A 3m x 3m marquee is typically used as an entrance marquee.|
|Do you require silk lining for the inside of the marquee? What about bayview-arched walls? For weddings we highly recommend hiring silk liners and bayview walls for the marquees, it adds a touch of elegance. (All marquees include a full set of plain walls in their hire price). |Do you need a dancefloor or other flooring?|
|Do you need internal and/or external lighting for the marquee? What about extension cords and multi-boxes?|
|Are you likely to need heating inside and/or outside?|
|Do you have sufficient tables and chairs to accommodate your guests? What about table linen and/or chair covers?|
|If using caterers, do they require a separate marquee in which to work?|
|Do you have sufficient toilet facilities available? If hiring toilets, do you require an additional marquee to situate them in so guests do not have to wait in the rain?|
Space: Make sure you have enough space for all the items you need to fit inside the marquee: tables, chairs, dancefloor, buffet area, bar, etc. Always have a contingency plan in case of bad weather and leave enough room for an uncluttered entrance way inside the marquee.
